Felipe Garcia, V was born in Monterrey, Mexico and raised in Nuevo Laredo. As a child, Felipe spent summers at his grandfather's ranch in the desert/mountain country of Coahuila, Mexico. He credits that time spent in the wilds of nature as his inspiration and love of nature's textures and colors. Garcia adds his own twist and style to his painting, and is known for his stylized and vividly colored impressions of landscapes.
Now 34, his affection for the desert country was evident even at an early age, as he began collecting everything from plants and rocks, to bugs and found objects--a collector's "bug" he has yet to shake, he laughs about how heavy his growing collection of rocks has become over the years--especially those times when he's moved.
His painting style has evolved over the years, and he still experiments with new styles and explores new approaches to his technique. However, he still maintains a distinctive "Felipe Garcia" signature to his art.
"I especially love the contrast of vegetation and mountains against blue skies--the piercingly blue skies of the desert, especially", he says.
